Good Morning to all!
Today the text I read in (Romans 12: 17-21) really spoke to me I must say. It's talking about having revenge on someone who insulted you or hurt you. In our human flesh we naturally think that when someone does something like that, we have to get them back, right? Two letters: NO! If we want to be anything like Jesus we need (including myself) to learn how to turn the other cheek and do something good to the people we wanted to have revenge on. The bible says that by doing this..."...for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head". Having revenge on someone is just going to make matters worse...admit it. Sure, you might think it would make you feel better, but in the end it's all just going to end in more hurt. All we need to focus on is the Lord and leave the rest up to him..."...Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord". I know for me, sometimes I feel like I have to take matters into my own hands...we make things so difficult don't we? The Lord just stated in that text that HE would take care of the vengeance, HE would take care of whoever we wanted to hurt.
The Bible says that we need to be more like our Father in heaven...and having revenge on someone else is not anything that Jesus would have done. When temptation comes around, just ask yourself this question: What Would Jesus Do?
