Have A Merry Christmas

I just want to really quickly say to you...Merry Christmas. Why is that such a bad phrase to say now? I'm sure you could name off many reasons, as I...but really it all comes down to this...some people don't like Christmas and some people do. People that practice different religions feel insulted when someone tells them to have a merry Christmas. First of all, those religions they're practicing are not biblical and to put it bluntly...ARE WRONG. They have the whole story of Jesus mixed up and don't even believe he was God. But he was. HE WAS! And IS might I add...he didn't just stay a baby. He grew as the Son of God to lay his life down for man so we would not have to be punished for our sins when we die. Christmas is about his birth and the Lord giving us a gift...Jesus. And what a gift it was and is to this day. The nativity is not just a story...it really happened. I feel very sorry for the people who do not know what the true meaning of Christmas is and are too selfish when people wish them a good Christmas. It's wrong and it needs to stop. I pray that you aren't one of them, and that you do understand the meaning of Christmas. Jesus loves us. Have a merry Christmas! :)

WARNING...THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG IS NOT A GOOD MOVIE

Last night me and my family went to see a movie that has been called the number one movie in America right now...The Princess And The Frog. I was so excited that we were finally going to see it as first of all it was another Walt Disney Princess Movie. The animation and the music also looked REALLY cool. But to my surprise and shock, that was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. There was so much evil presented in this movie that it outweighed the good. Normally there's some evil, but the good always outweighs it. But sadly no, not in this Walt Disney production. There was so much witchcraft and voodoo in it that it's making me feel really sick right now even thinking about it. It's wrong. As plain as that, it was wrong to put any thing like that in there. That movie was for kids, and yet they associated so many scary images with it that my own younger siblings were frightened. My little brother had to walk out with my dad quite a few times just so he wouldn't be scared of what was being shown on the screen. That shouldn't be an issue at all. It's beginning to get to the point as to where the parents have to go see the movie first, before their kids, just in case. It makes me sick to think that the people who make these movies now don't even care if the children get scared. They're too fascinated and enamoured by the evil things that they don't care about anyone else but themselves. I could say so many things about that movie, but I'm not going too simply because it makes me sick and really mad every time I think about it. So all I'm going to say is this, God says to not look upon evil things, and if you go see The Princess And The Frog...that's exactly what you're going to do. We had no idea that it was going to be this bad, and I regret seeing it. Please, if you have kids and you're thinking about taking them to see it...think twice. Save your kids from the nightmares and aweful thoughts that they will have if they watch this movie. Don't see The Princess And The Frog.

GOD IS LOVE

Christmas is coming soon and I'm sure you are trying to finish last minute shopping and decorating, putting up the Christmas tree, sending Christmas cards to bunches of people, and the list goes on and on. I'm sure your head may be floating with all the business that this season brings. But as you are taking care of all those things, I hope that you will remember the true meaning of Christmas. Many people can't even say what that really is. Well I can tell you one thing, it's not believing in Santa Claus. He's a made up character that I believe is a hinderance to kids really knowing the real meaning of the holiday. But I won't go into that at this moment as that would probably be a REALLY long post. :) The true meaning of Christmas is the story of God sending his son to live and to die for our sins so that we would not go to hell. It's the story of Jesus coming into this world, born of a virgin in a small stable. He was a king, and yet he left all his glories and was born in the most humbling way. There wasn't anyone waiting to greet Him, no throne or gold, or anything royal for that matter. He was born in a stable and slept in a manger with hay. But the reason he came was to die for our sins and arise on the third day. It's a story of God's love towards us. I hope that you feel God's love in your life every day and that you will celebrate Christmas as the miraculour birth of Jesus Christ coming into this world to pave a way for sinners to be set free. GOD IS LOVE.

Choir Cantata And Children's Program

Today has been wonderful! Our choir's cantata was yesterday morning...two people got saved! And our children's program, Orphans Of Christmas, was last night, and it was outstanding!! Our song Orphans Of God at the very end that me, my mom and sisters sang was better than words can say. I was really emotional afterwards - it's just one of those songs that gives you the goosebumps and the chills. Everyone loved the programs and I truly believe that we were used immensely by God to minister to our audience. All that matters to me was that two young ladies were saved, and I can now say again that I was a part of leading someone else to Jesus. Not personally, but it was right after our Christmas cantata that our pastor gave the unbelievers an opportunity for salvation...and two did! Praise the Lord for all he's done! I feel so humbled to have been a part of something like this. :)

~Snow~

A couple days ago it finally snowed here in our area. It was wonderful to see the beautiful pure white snowflakes fall from the sky with their majestic appearance. I love snow. I'm sure you're wondering why I'm talking about snow when this is a blog about living for the Lord. Well, I think a really cool way to make this an application to spiritual things is by thinking of snow as your heart being clean and pure white after you've asked forgiveness of your sins from God. There is no greater feeling than to know that my Father has forgiven me for all the failures and sin that I've committed in my life. It's an amazing feeling that just overflows inside your heart. God covers your sin with his forgiveness, like snow covers the ground. When the lovely white snow falls, I'll always think of how my Lord cleanses me from my sin with his forvigeness and mercy, making my heart pure white...like snow.

Taking Your Eyes Off Jesus

Yesterday night I played a prelude for a Funeral Home service dedicated to those who had lost loved ones recently. I sadly messed up - I had just finished arranging it that same day...so I guess I have some leeway. But I messed up mainly because I got nervous and began wondering what the other people were thinking. And because my thoughts turned selfishly to me, I lost control and messed up. That reminds me of the story in the bible where Peter is walking on the water to Jesus. When he took his eyes off Jesus...he fell in. That could be applied to what I did...I did sort of take my eyes or thoughts off God for those few seconds and I messed up or fell into a failure so to speak. I had no control when I messed up and neither did Peter. It was God that kept him on the water, not him. And it was God who gave me this talent and allowed me to play the prelude, not me. I think that I was simply reminded that I'm not in control of what I do, it's Jesus that has given me these talents and allowed me to use them. It's never been me,  it's all been him. When you take your eyes off Jesus, you run into sin and failures. Sometimes you may think that God doesn't even love you or forgive you for what you've done. But that's not true! He loves you so much that he died for your sins! YES- HE DIED FOR YOU! He would have died for just YOU if you were the only person on earth. That's how much he loves you. And he rose again on the third day and ascended into heaven days later. He will forgive you for your sins if you will just confess it to him in prayer and repent (or turn away) from that sin. God loves you. Don't ever forget that.
